IPED's Spanish School is located in the peaceful and safe provincial town of Heredia, and provides the educationally motivated traveler with a unique cultural and learning experience. Latin American culture revolves around "La Familia" and in our homestay program you live with a Costa Rican family.

You will gain an unparalleled insight into Costa Rican culture, and can immediately begin to communicate with your new knowledge of Spanish.

IPED is conveniently located in the center of the colonial town of Heredia and you will immediately feel comfortable meeting new people from around the world in the our quaint back yard and ample patio filled with tropical fruit trees and hammocks. Have classes overlooking the beautiful Barva volcano and stunning mountains that rise above Heredia which is located 3000 ft. (1000 mts.) above sea level. Most students who arrive  think that they are coming to a very hot climate but you will be pleasantly surprised at Heredia's ideal weather. The average temperature year round is a wonderful 75 degrees (25C.) with sunny mornings, warm afternoons and cool evenings for sleeping. 

You can also study at our beach location or combine the city experience with our beautiful beach program in the tropical beach town of Puerto Viejo on the dreamy beaches of the Caribbean side of Costa Rica.

In addition, we offer free varied cultural activities such as Latin dance classes, cooking classes, language exchanges, and visits to the central market that will delight your senses and broaden your understanding of Costa Rican culture. Excursions to the many natural wonders of Costa Rica, such as its tropical rain forests, beaches and volcanoes will make your trip unforgettable.
